Are you our new Legal Counsel?

AudienceProject is looking for a Legal Counsel for our Copenhagen office

Are you ready to engage with the most prominent international media, tech platforms, and advertisers in the digital industry? Then we might have the right opportunity for you.

Are you a lawyer – or have a similar relevant background – with an interest in privacy and data protection? And would you like to play a central role in an international, Danish-owned tech company working at the forefront of innovation in the field of measuring digital advertising? Then this job is for you.

Digital advertising and, by implication, its measurement is at the centre of crucial GDPR implementation practice development. We are in a fast-developing market with new technologies coming up almost every minute. As GDPR compliance and securing data privacy is a number one priority in our products and business, the job as Legal Counsel is a crucial function at AudienceProject.

As our Legal Counsel, you will collaborate with experienced colleagues and clients internationally. You will be responsible for providing advice, training, and governance within data privacy and product compliance and guiding management and your colleagues in all company legal matters, i.e. contracts, HR, and compliance. You will assist the business in continuously developing and integrating intelligent tools and services for data privacy management.

The right candidate will have ample opportunity to influence and drive forward risk and compliance policies and procedures, and even impact privacy policy development at a broader level as the area is rapidly developing.

You will cooperate closely with management, our commercial department, relevant regulatory authorities, and business associations. You will also work with our product team to help drive the development from purely contractual privacy guarantees to incorporating privacy-by-design features across our entire product and data ecosystem. You will have a direct report to the highest management level in the company.

You will be our primary contact point for some of the world’s largest advertisers, media, and tech platforms in contractual and compliance-related matters.

You will be employed at our HQ in Ryesgade 3F, Copenhagen.

Primary tasks and responsibilities

As our Legal Counsel, your primary tasks will consist of advising and guiding AudienceProject in all legal matters, where data protection regulation is a large part. This includes assistance in interpreting current and upcoming legislation and advice on risk and impact assessments, etc. You will have a central role in ensuring that AudienceProject is compliant in the data privacy area regarding internal procedures, guidelines, systems architecture design, data processing policies, and processing of personal data.

You will also be responsible for negotiating and delivering quality assurance on new contracts as well as data protection agreements (DPAs) entered between AudienceProject and our clients, subcontractors, and major platform players within the industry.

You will facilitate and support the creation of the necessary risk assessment documentation whenever new vendors, clients, or services are onboarded.

You will be able to act as the project manager of internal as well as external audit procedures.

Key areas of responsibility are:

  • Informing and advising management and the executive board in connection with all legal and contractual matters
  • Developing and implementing company-wide data protection policies and guidelines
  • Coordinating and implementing data processing agreements with key partners and customers
  • Managing third-party audits and impact assessments of data protection
  • Cooperating with and reporting to the supervisory authority

What are we looking for?

Joining AudienceProject is to join a community of helpful, ambitious, research, and tech-savvy people who love to explore and grow. We deliver a world-leading service, and among our clients are some of the world’s largest advertisers, media agencies, and global technology platforms.

As a person, we expect you to be empathetic and ambitious and have excellent communications skills. We value team players, and we are a company where work-life balance is essential. As almost all communication is in English, fluency both verbally and in writing is a must. You must also have the necessary personal authority and integrity to fulfill the role.

As we operate within a constantly changing international market, the ability to ingest and process large amounts of information is a core requirement. The digital media industry is in a constant state of flux – learning to navigate that complexity on an ongoing basis is key to success.

Send us your application

We offer attractive compensation and an opportunity to grow with the company in an area at the forefront of privacy regulation. We look forward to receiving your application and resume at job@audienceproject.com as soon as possible and no later than Monday, December 6.
